A brand new counseling practice specializing in support for overseas cross-cultural workers needed a logo. Field Support is a resource that helps clients remain, grow, and thrive “in the field” where access to English-speaking therapists isn’t available.
Professional, warm, confidential support is the hallmark of the practice, so imagery that combined growing wheat (thriving in the field) with supporting hands (human encouragement) made sense. The logo needed to look friendly and accessible, so simple typographic options were explored as well. The company name suggests security, so a shield shape was considered. And finally, a tree graphic that represents how Field Support helps its clients to thrive also conveyed the desire of the clients themselves—to prosper in their work by helping others. These initial concepts were presented to the client.
Field Support selected the tree logo, and after a few rounds of typeface explorations, an all-caps version of their name was decided upon. Several weeks after completion, the client remarks, “People love the logo, as do I. It’s just right.”
